Carmia N. Caesar joined the TeamChild Juvenile Justice Project to advocate in the Hartford public schools on behalf of young people who are involved in the juvenile justice system. In addition to working in private practice, Carmia has practiced as a Domestic Violence Attorney in Berkeley, CA, and as a Housing Attorney in New Haven, CT. For several years, she served as the Co-director of the Berkeley Village Educational Program, a non-profit organization that she co-founded to serve at-risk minority, middle school youth in the Berkeley Public School system. Before moving to Connecticut in 2007, Carmia served as an adjunct professor and Director of the Externship and Public Interest Programs at the Howard University School of Law. Carmia is a graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, California, and the Harvard Law School.
