Staff Attorney, Teen Legal Advocacy Clinic and TeamChild Project
Josh operates the Center’s Teen Legal Advocacy Project
in Fairfield County. Based in Bridgeport, Josh runs a Teen Legal
Clinic at Harding High School and works with teenagers in high schools,
group homes, shelters, and other placements throughout Fairfield
County, providing advice, referrals, and representation to help
remove legal barriers that keep kids from graduating high school.
Josh has worked with Fairfield County teens on housing, domestic
violence, special education, denial of state benefits, homelessness,
child protection, and immigration matters. Josh is fluent in Spanish
and has done extensive outreach to Fairfield County’s large Hispanic
immigrant population. Josh also advocates for legislative and administrative
changes to address the needs of Connecticut’s indigent teenagers,
especially those in Fairfield County. Before coming to CCA in 2007,
Josh was a public defender in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and clerked
for Justice Joseph Trainor of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He
is an honors graduate of New York University and Boston University
School of Law.
