SES
Tutoring Request Form (English)
Request
Form (Spanish)
The Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
program is part of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001.
Through the SES program, parents can get free tutoring services
for their children. These services provide extra help in academic
subjects, such as reading, language arts, and mathematics, to
students who may be struggling in school. These services are
typically delivered outside the regular school day-before or
after school on weekends or during the summer months. This tutoring
must be in line with state academic standards and connected
to the school district's instructional program. Eligible families
choose an SES provider from a list developed by their state.
School districts pay providers directly for services. The SES
program encourages states to approve a variety of organizations
as SES providers, thus giving students and families the largest
possible range of quality options.

US
Government, Office of Civil Rights The
mission of the Office for Civil Rights is to ensure equal access
to education and to promote educational excellence throughout
the nation through vigorous enforcement of civil rights.
The OCR serves student populations facing discrimination and
the advocates and institutions promoting systemic solutions
to civil rights problems. An important responsibility is resolving
complaints of discrimination. Agency-initiated cases, typically
called compliance reviews, permit OCR to target resources on
compliance problems that appear particularly acute. OCR also
provides technical assistance to help institutions achieve voluntary
compliance with the civil rights laws that OCR enforces. An
important part of OCR's technical assistance are partnerships
designed to develop creative approaches to preventing and addressing
discrimination.
